A keen adventure enthusiast and dog lover, Andy Gray from Chatham in Kent undertook the astounding challenge and first 'bucket list adventure', seven days on foot trekking across Dominica from top to bottom and approximately 100 miles of unspoiled jungle in aid of Dogs Trust.

Andy completed his walk in 2022 in memory of his dear friend, Tom who sadly passed away, and has surpassed his goal of raising an amazing £500 for our charity. The amount raised from Andy’s incredible fundraiser will go to support dogs in our care at Canterbury.

Dog lover, Ash Paddon from Godalming, is raising funds for our charity by completing a 1083.8-mile virtual walk. Ash, whose legs were crushed in a road accident, was inspired to take on the trek for Dogs Trust from Land’s End to John O’Groats, despite suffering life-changing injuries to his legs, after seeing first-hand how the charity cared for unwanted dogs during the pandemic. 

Ash began his walk on 1st March 2022 and hopes to raise a whopping £20,000 for Dogs Trust.

These young fundraisers raised awareness of the work we do by giving a presentation in assembly to their entire school, Monk Fryston Primary, before starting their fundraising. Pupils and teachers joined in games including Spin the Wheel, Guess the Breed of the Dog and Guess How Many Treats Are in the Jar and a non-uniform day was held. They then went on to raise more money after organising a fundraising event at Bert’s Barrow pumpkin patch business, run by their parents. 

The girls felt motivated in memory of their late 16-year-old Jack Russell, Jack, and have already raised over £550!
